news

So, just an update...

I have made some contacts and it looks like no matter what I make (just teas or cookies too) I'll need to get a commercial kitchen (or build one here) for the processing. So, that is my new research project. I am also thinking about my past plants of growing alpine strawberries and vege/herb starts for the market too, trying to see if that is economically feasible.

I'll let you know- wish me luck on finding a kitchen at a good rate or finding the materials to make my own processing facility here on the 'ol homestead.

The plan, man

So, here is my big fat scheme.
Materializing in June.

I am going to get on top of my tea making, make a few pounds of all of my favourite blends and get a booth at farmer's market and start selling loose and hot tea. If I can find an affordable commercial kitchen to rent, I will also offer drop-scones and allergy-friendly breakfast cookies.

here is what I will offer:
Mountain People Chai (vanilla chai with healthy goodness boost, available in black, red and yerba mate)
Our Daily Tea (a great herbal tea that is good for you in so many ways, wonderful hot or iced)
Zap! (uplifting morning tea)
NighNigh (a soothing evening tea to help you fall asleep and stay that way til morning, no hangover feeling, I promise!)
SuperWoman (nutritious herbal tea that is great for keeping women healthy, awesome for pregnant and nursing mums)
BabeBeCalm (tea for mum to drink to help sooth her colicy baby via her breastmilk, or to give directly in weak small amounts)
Rooibos and Honeybush blend (simple, anti-oxidant rich and delicious)

To eat:
Drop Scones (rife with oats and dried fruit, these delicious mini-scones make the perfect breakfast snack)
Guilt-Free Cookies (no sugar, wheat or eggs, these cookies use ripe banana's and either chocolate or dried dates to sweeten with nut meals and coconut to give it texture. Mega-Yum)

Someday:
Barley Pancakes, fresh off the gridle with seasonal toppings and flair. Spring favourite is Molasses Oat Pancakes with applesauce on top.
